Heat transfer II

CONVECTION

This is the transfer of heat energy through the movement of movement of the particles themselves from a hotter to cooler region.

Fluids-liquids and gases transfer heat energy by convection. They can move around unlike the particles in a solid.

RADIATION

This is transfer of heat energy by waves. Unlike conduction and convection which both transfer heat energy through particles, radiated heat can travel, through a vacuum i.e. an empty space with no particles in it.
