The speed of light:

·         Light travels very quickly.

·         It seems to arrive almost instantaneously over short distances.

·         It takes light just 8 minutes to travel from the Sun to the Earth: it travel at a speed of 300,000 kilometres a second.

Sound is always produced by a movement. All sounds begin with a vibration.

·         In air, the speed of sound is approximately 340 m/s.

·         This is much lower than the speed of light. (Remember 300 000 000 m/s).
