The relationship between
energy resources and the secondary sector.
Energy resources are one of the components
of the industrial process. Raw materials, machines, human
resources and capital make up the rest of the components.
Principally, moving machines is the role of the energy
resources in the secondary sector.
There are three kinds of industries:
Heavy industry
transforms raw materials into semi-processed products for
example: metallurgical industry (iron, steel, aluminium,
copper, etc) and chemical industry (phosphate, sulphuric acid,
etc). Equipment industry transforms semi-processed
products into processed products for example building
materials, agricultural and industrial material, transport
material, aerospace industry, etc. Consumer goods industry
transforms raw materials into processed products to be
directly sold for example food industry, textile industry,
etc.
Heavy industry and equipment industry are
the most important consumers of energy.
