Secondary sector
Tertiary sector
 a)      The relationship between energy resources and the secondary sector.

Energy resources are one of the components of the industrial process. Raw materials, machines, human resources and capital make up the rest of the components. Principally, moving machines is the role of the energy resources in the secondary sector.

There are three kinds of industries:

Heavy industry transforms raw materials into semi-processed products for example: metallurgical industry (iron, steel, aluminium, copper, etc) and chemical industry (phosphate, sulphuric acid, etc). Equipment industry transforms semi-processed products into processed products for example building materials, agricultural and industrial material, transport material, aerospace industry, etc. Consumer goods industry transforms raw materials into processed products to be directly sold for example food industry, textile industry, etc.

Heavy industry and equipment industry are the most important consumers of energy.
